My favorite chiropractors ever! Educated me and also listened to me. I am a furniture maker and they helped me get back to work a few different times and also helped me maintain a healthy back when I wasn’t injured.
Dr. John Rotundo, practicing since 1994, and Dr. Michael Gazaleh, practicing since 2000, have successfully treated thousands of Hoboken/Jersey City residents since establishing Hudson Family Chiropractic in Hoboken in 2000. They incorporate exercise, stretching, trigger point massage, physiotherapy, and gentle chiropractic manipulation into the overall treatment protocol. They often can be found in the office before and after scheduled office hours. Dr. Rotundo and Dr. Gazaleh are both Hoboken residents.
The chiropractors do not use “cookie cutter” treatment plans. Each patient is treated according to his or her condition. Some patients require more extensive therapy while other patients require only a few visits. You will only receive the treatment needed and once your pain has dissipated, you will be released from care and advised to return only when needed.
Our physical therapist, Sejal Mair, PT, has extensive experience in treating a wide variety of patients with orthopedic and neurological conditions.
Sejal will use techniques that are designed to address a specific functional need of each patient. These dynamic activities must be part of an active treatment plan and be directed at a specific outcome. Please see our Physical Therapy page for more details about therapy and rehabilitation techniques and specific conditions that can be treated.
Meet Dr. John Rotundo
At the age of 17, after many positive experiences with chiropractic, Dr. Rotundo knew his career path. He graduated from the University of Bridgeport, Magna Cum Laude, as a Dana Scholar. He then attended New York Chiropractic College and graduated with a Doctorate of Chiropractic in 1994.
He began practicing immediately after graduation. Prior to opening HFC in 2000, Dr. Rotundo had five years experience in a multidisciplinary office where he worked in unison with medical doctors on a daily basis (orthopedists, neurologists, physiatrists, internists, osteopaths, and general practitioners).
While Dr. Rotundo feels strongly about his chosen profession and applies chiropractic care as needed, he is very comfortable referring his patients to the appropriate medical doctor if co-treatment is necessary.
Meet Dr. Michael Gazaleh
Michael Gazaleh graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in February of 2000. Following graduation, he was fortunate enough to find educational opportunities, associating himself with exceptional doctors in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York City.
With a strong understanding of the muscular system in active athletes, he opened his own practice in Manhattan in 2004. While enjoying practicing chiropractics, Michael continues to be very active himself. In June 2005 he started City Running Tours, which offers guided running tours of some of the great cities in the United States. Dr. Gazaleh joined HFC in early 2008.
Meet Dr. Vincent Porta
Dr. Porta completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at SUNY Cortland and went on the Palmer Chiropractic College where he received his Doctorate in Chiropractic.

Dr. Jackee Shu DAc., L.Ac.
Dr Jackee Shu DAc., L.Ac., is a licensed acupuncturist in New Jersey and New York, and board-certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She received her Doctor of Acupuncture from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York.
Being diagnosed with several medical conditions while sick during a 20-year stint in corporate finance led her on a holistic healing journey.
“I chose conscious eating, acupuncture, herbal formula, cupping + moxabustion as part of daily living over the conventional protocol of life-long medication for the diagnosis rendered.
The added bonus of these changes was that, for the first time in 15 years, I walked through Central Park in the middle of Spring, breathing through my nose, my eyes clear, fully appreciating the scent of this urban forest, medication free.
Grateful + curious, I became a Doctor of Acupuncture at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine while a full-time corporate professional. The curriculum consisted of over 3,000 hours of training in Traditional Chinese Medicine with heavy emphasis on biosciences in biology, chemistry, pharmacology, ortho-neuro evaluation, anatomy, pathophysiology, gynecology, dermatology, and psychology. “
I started going to Hudson Family Chiropractoc in January of this year (2017) out of desperation. I was dealing with lower back pain for a few years, and being the stubborn man that I am, I kept putting off treatment. I finally caved and was referred to this place from a friend. Best decision I’ve made in awhile.
Since my first appointment (and I have had many since then) I have had nothing but positive experiences with HFC. I am always greeted with a friendly smile from Tiffany or Ariel at the front desk, which is always a good start. They are always willing to go the extra mile to help me with what I need, and they do it without complaint.
John and Mike are incredible. I cannot say enough to express what they have done for my pain. I really had no hope coming into this entire experience, and 3 months later, my pain is so minimal that I feel like a different person. They treat each patient very specifically. What I mean is that they are not like most chiropractors I have seen, where they just do the routine adjustment of the entire body and call it a day. They really pin point your pain, and they don’t overdo it. I feel like most places tend to areas that are unnecessary, which sometimes can lead to more pain. They do not do this. They are true professionals.
Besides being awesome at their job, Mike and John are always so compassionate. I honestly feel that they care about you, and they don’t see you as income. They are always genuinely concerned about my situation. For example, I had a setback with my pain in February that put my back out for almost a week. This was caused by one of my not so best decisions of allowing my fiancé to drive to the store, but that’s a whole different story. These guys were genuinely concerned for me. They were so disappointed because I had come so far and they didn’t want me to give up hope, as they did not. John and Mike had me back up and walking in less than 2 days, and back to almost 100% within a week. It used to take me 2 to 3 weeks to be able to get back into my normal routine, but they had me going in a fraction of that time. This was also thanks to the final but equally important piece of the puzzle in Marissa, HFC’s AWESOME physical therapist.
What can I say about Marissa? Besides being just as warm and caring as the rest of the staff, she is like a wizard with her ultrasound and Graston (spelling?) Wands. She uses multiple techniques to loosen and relax the muscles, as well as stretch them. I haven’t felt this loose and comfortable in years. All throughout the process, Marissas personality shines and she will have you laughing the entire time. It’s like going to the doctor and hanging out at the same time. And her new assistant Kenny is on point as well. He is always on top of his stuff, and is always there when you lose count on for your stretches. Bring him a bag of nuts from the nut guy out front, and you have a friend for life!
So basically, if you are nervous about going somewhere for your pain, DONT BE. Give these guys a shot. You will NOT regret it. I feel like a new person.
P.s. For bonus points, get Marissa a coffee from Starbucks downstairs.
Doc John sets the tone for a great experience at Hudson Family Chiropractic and truly adds the “family” feel to the office. As someone who has been a proponent of chiropractic for the past twenty years, I have had the good fortune of seeing Doc John and Dr. Mike for nearly a decade. I maintain a very active physical regimen with sports and excercise playing a part of my entire week. There is no doubt that John and Mike’s efforts allow me to go that much harder throughout the week. Their practice features wonderful, professional and friendly folks and I enjoy seeing them each time I can. I fully recommend Hudson Family Chiropractic to those that need relief from strains, sprains or tweaks. Kudos to their team and thank you!
I am a longtime patient of John and Mike and found their services to be professional, proficient, and effective. I can always count on getting an appointment in a reasonable time and getting in and out is fast. But recently, I needed the attention of a Physical Therapist, and that’s when they referred me to their therapist, Nicole.
My first meeting with Nicole was extremely pleasant and I was quickly impressed with her knowledge in her profession. She made me feel comfortable and she explained what was causing my pain and what her course of action would be. Within a few days, the pain had almost disappeared and I started for feel great. She continued to work with me and again, the appointments were around my schedule and we got to work and I was out the door never feeling rushed.
I want to personally thank the staff at Hudson Family Chiropractic, John and Mike for the work that they do and also Nicole for her skills in getting me back on my NEW bicycle.
Great job Guys.
I have been going to Mike and John for the past 3+ years and they are hands down the best chiropractors that I have ever been to. It started out with a neck injury and I had a 1/2 marathon race the week after. After a few visits, they were able to help me and I ended up PRing that race. I continue to go to them for tune ups and also when I’m preparing for a race. Also, they are both very personable and easy to talk to!
I’ve been coming to Hudson Family Chiropractic for almost 3 years now. I’ve suffered from neck and bulged disc pain for years before coming here. I also used to suffer from headaches every day; however, Dr. John and Dr. Mike are miracle workers. I now barely get headaches anymore and my neck pain has eased drastically. I now have a quality of life without the pain and suffering I had before coming to Hudson Family Chiropractic. Thank you so much!
I always get great results from the professional and helpful staff. The chiropractic care has been instrumental in my active lifestyle.
I was nervous about going to a chiropractor since I’d never gone to one, but I tweaked a muscle in my lower back and needed help. My personal trainer recommended Dr. John Rotundo at Hudson Family Chiropractic and I’m SO GLAD I went. He explained everything he was going to do and look for, answered all of my questions, and had me feeling better after my first visit. I only needed 3 visits over the course of 2 weeks and I’m feeling 100% better and can get back to the gym! I highly recommend paying Dr. Rotundo a visit if you’re looking for a good chiropractor in the area. Super friendly, easy to get to, and easy to get an appointment.
I just finished physical therapy [pain in right knee] at Hudson Family Chiropractic and Physical Therapy and could not have asked for a better experience.
The center has worked wonders on me! When Nicole C. [PT] listened to my goals and history to determine the best workouts, she asked the right questions. She then analyzed the information to create the best plan, tailored for me. No cookie cutter approaches here.
Nicole is the best PT I could asked for. She gives you good exercises to work on and monitors you while you are doing exercises. As you progress, she adds on more to challenge you. Nicole gives you focused individual attention, using different techniques to treat your condition. Working with her has been an always pleasant personal experience.
The center is flexible with scheduling, always on time and had a very social, friendly atmosphere.
I m professional ballroom dancer, so I had awful pain in my lower back when I came here first time. Now, after 3 month I feel much better.
